Shu is a fourth year Ph.D. student in the communication department. Her research focuses on the role of supportive communication in different interpersonal relationships, especially those considered to be 'long distance'. She is also interested in the study of social support and emotional well-being among recovering alcoholics. Currently, Shu is working with Dr. Arthur VanLear on a longitudinal study about recovering alcoholics' emotional quality of life. Shu is also a research assistant for the Center for Health Communication and Marketing where she is working on a meta-analysis to examine the use of tailoring in different health behavior interventions. |
