Jeffrey is a fourth-year Ph.D. student in the communication science program. His current research is focused on the relationship between childhood gender non-conformity, parent-child communication, and adult adjustment among gay men. Specifically, he's interested in the impact of parental communication on the social, emotional, and developmental well-being of non-heterosexual populations. Jeffrey is currently working with Dr. Arthur VanLear on a longitudinal study investigating recovering alcoholics emotional quality of life as it relates to levels of interpersonal social support. In addition to this, Jeffrey also writes on issues related to Western / U.S. media representations of Arab and Muslim populations. |
