Dr. Nowak supervises the HCI lab in the communication science department. Her research focuses on the person perception process and user satisfaction in computer mediated interactions. She is also interested in design and usability issues involving computer media. Her work has been published in the Journal of Communication, Journal of Computer Mediated Communication, Presence, Media Psychology and other journals.
